Q. Will barre n9ne® classes help me lose weight?
A. Yes, combined with maintaining a healthy moderate diet, you will lose weight and reshape your muscles. Our method focuses on strengthening and lengthening the muscles. The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn all day. Our classes combine intervals where we speed up the heart rate during strengthening exercises and then slows down during stretching which is great for burning calories and therefore losing weight.
Q. How will barre n9ne® classes change my shape and tone my body?
A. barre workouts in general typically will trim down your body, especially around your thighs and glutes. Your muscles will first lift up and seem to be fuller. Because muscles are mostly composed of water, yours will absorb water as they become more active. As your muscles become denser, over a period of three-to-five months, they will also become more compact. Over time your muscles will firm up around their underlying bones, and the inter-muscular fat will burn away, revealing a trimmed down shape.
Q. How long are barre n9ne® classes?
A. Classes are generally 55 minutes long which includes our warm and cool down. Express classes are 45 minutes.
Q. Do I need to sign up online ahead of time to take class?
A. Yes. You must sign up ahead of time online to reserve your space in class. We cannot guarantee walk-ins as classes fill up quickly and we have a limited amount of space and equipment.
Q. Can I take class if I have a bun in the oven?
A. Yes! We do offer prenatal classes upon request however most classes can be modified to be taken safely throughout your pregnancy. Tanya (Owner) actually taught classes up until week 38 during both of her pregnancies and many of our instructors teach up until week 36 of their pregnancies! We require a note from your doctor stating that the class/classes you would like to take are safe for you. Please inform the instructor prior to class to let them know you are expecting. Important note-barre n9ne® cardio and HIIT the barre classes are not recommended for expecting women.
Q. How often should I take class?
A. To receive maximum results you should consistently take class 3-4 (or more) times per week. It is safe to take class everyday as we only use light weights and do plenty of stretching. Taking class once or twice per week is also great if you are looking to feel good and compliment any other workouts you may enjoy. It is very therapeutic for your joints, and is great for flexibility.
Q. Why is it so important to stretch and be flexible?
